Israeli Court Fines, Hands Demolition Order to Jerusalemite Palestinian

JERUSALEM, July 20, 2011 (WAFA) – The Israeli municipality court in Jerusalem Wednesday handed a Palestinian man a demolition order for his house and fined him 89,000 NIS ($26,000) under the pretext of building without a permit.

Noman Abu Sneineh, a resident of Ein al-Loza neighborhood in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa mosque, who lives in his house with 16 family members, said the Israeli municipality asked him to submit a building plan of his 100 square meter house in order to grant him a building permit.

He did this and complied with all municipality regulations, but instead of being granted a permit, he was handed a demolition order, fined and given until September to leave the house.

The Israeli municipality is planning to demolish dozens of houses in various neighborhoods of Silwan and entirely remove all 88 houses in its Bustan area, in order to build Talmudic gardens and other facilities that serve the myth of the alleged Jewish temple site, thus displacing 1600 Palestinians.
