RAMALLAH (Ma'an) --The Palestinian farmers union have filed a lawsuit against an Israeli crop-provider for selling Palestinians fake seedlings, union board chair Ibrahim Idieq said Monday.

The suit comes after an expert investigation into the case, Idieq said, adding that the union is seeking $400,000 compensation for farmers.

The case follows a lawsuit in 2006 against an Israeli plantation in which 54 farmers received $500,000 for 1,270 seedlings, the union chief said.

Palestinian Farmers Union works with government and non-governmental organizations to protect farmers from fake products and the local market from settlement produce, Idieq added.
