CAIRO, October 2, 2011 (WAFA) – The Egyptian government Sunday affirmed its support of the Palestinian position that rejects resuming negotiations with Israel in light of the continuation of settlement construction, said Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr.
The statement came during a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Cairo, of a delegation comprising PLO Executive Committee Member, Saeb Erekat, the Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, and Palestinian ambassador to Cairo, Barakat Al-Farra.
The meeting discussed the Palestinian bid to the United Nations to seek full membership and recognition of a Palestinian state.
