Israeli Troops Arrest Jerusalem Development Worker, Raid Home

On Sunday evening Israeli soldiers raided the offices of the Jerusalem Organization for Development, arrested the director of the social department Kifah Sarhan, and tampered with files.

The raid lasted more than five hours, according to eyewitnesses, and soldiers isolated workers in one room of the office. Palestinian official news wire Wafa reported that the soldiers broke many private doors in the organization.

“The army raided the organization and confiscated the computers and the security cameras,” said Jihad Zoghair, one of the workers.

At around the same time, Israeli forces raided Kifah Sarhan’s home in Silwan and took his personal computer and an amount of money suspected to be around 20,000 NIS.

In related news, Israeli forces arrested 10 Palestinians from around the West Bank in raids concluding on Monday morning: in Ramallah soldiers arrested Handal Yusef Rashid,18, Majd Abu al-Najoum, 18, and Ramzi Hisham al-Natour, age unknown, while in Hebron, the detainees included local eye doctor Farouq Ashour, 37, and 21-year-old Hassan Abu Sniniyeh. In Qalqiliya, Israeli soldiers arrested 34-year-old Fahd al-Sheikh, and in Beit Fajjar, 23-year-old Nahad Taqatqeh and 23-year-old Widad Taqatqeh were arrested during a home invasion. All were taken to unknown locations.
