The Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported on Thursday that Israeli security had planned harsh conditions for Palestinian prisoners released under “security arrangements” in the West Bank.

The Hebrew-language newspaper reported, “Any violation of the conditions, according to the agreement—being one hour late from reaching the Coordination and Liaison Office, for instance—means that the prisoner must come back to continue the duration of his sentence, even if it was a life sentence.”
The Israeli General Security Service Shabak put restrictions on 55 of the 123 prisoners released into the West Bank. Some would be forbidden from leaving their towns for 10 years while others were asked to report to Coordination and Liaison Offices at least once a month.
“Prisoners were informed of these conditions and they signed on them,” Yediot reported.
The Palestinian Authority (PA) was not party to the agreement signed between Israel and Hamas, but Israel informed the PA of the prisoners’ details and their residences.
