The Israeli Air Force bombarded, Saturday, an area in the Gaza Strip leading to no injuries; an Israeli military spokesperson claimed that the attack targeted resistance fighters who fired a Qassam homemade shell into the Negev leading to no damage or injuries.

Israeli Ynet News reported that the army spokesperson stated that the airstrike took place on Saturday morning shortly after a shell was fired into the Negev.
The Ynet added that, earlier on Saturday, three mortars were fired into the Eshkol Regional Council in the Negev; no injuries were reported.
Also, Palestinian sources reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out two failed attempts targeting resistance fighters east of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Army stated that it will continue to attack any group “that tries to harm Israel and its security”, and held the Hamas movement in Gaza fully responsible for any attack that stems from the coastal region.
On Wednesday, 18 January, two Palestinian resistance fighters were killed when Israeli forces positioned at the border in the southeast of Beit Hanoun, in the north of the Gaza Strip, fired 8 consecutive artillery shells at two Palestinian resistance fighters while on mission near the border area.
Israeli aircrafts also flew in the sky and opened heavy fire at the two men. Israeli forces also fired two artillery shells at PRCS ambulances while trying to evacuate the bodies. Israeli forces declared that they targeted a group of Palestinians who were trying to plant explosives near the border.
