RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces raided several locations in the West Bank and set up road blocks on Sunday morning arresting at least one Palestinian man. Locals said dozens of Israeli soldiers raided Tammoun near Jenin and arrested Moahmmed Abdul-Aziz Basharat, 25, after surrounding and raiding his home. Sources added that IOF soldiers set up surprise checkpoints in Tammoun and Al-Fari'a refugee camp and have been searching vehicles since early morning. More forces raided Qubatiya east of Jenin and combed the area surrounding the western part of the village without report of raids. Elsewhere, several Palestinians sustained injuries after Israeli soldiers fired tear gas at a weekly march in Iraq Burin village, southwest of Nablus city, which was aimed at protesting West Bank settlement activity. Sources said more than eight Palestinians suffered from the effects of breathing tear gas amid the barrage of canisters fired at them. The source added that many foreign pro-Palestine activists managed to enter the village although the Israeli army has closed the main entrance. He said they took an alternative route through the mountains. |
