JENIN, July 13, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Wednesday killed a Palestinian man in Faraa refugee camp north of Nablus, according to security sources.
Witnesses said Israeli soldiers opened fire directly at Ibrahim Sarhan, 21, a university student who was leaving his house at dawn to go to prayers. They left him bleeding for several hours before allowing ambulances to reach him. Sarhan died in hospital.
The soldiers also attacked and severely injured Ahmad abu Hasan, another Palestinian. He was transferred to hospital for treatment.
Israeli forces raided the refugee camp at dawn, accompanied by undercover Arabic-speaking soldiers and snipers. The soldiers broke into and searched a large number of houses and detained dozens of Palestinians in the middle of the camp to interrogate them.
In a related matter, Israeli warplanes bombed al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza, injuring a Palestinian woman. Her injuries were described as moderate.
