The Swedish-Norwegian-Greek passenger ship "Juliano" came on Wednesday afternoon to the little coastal town of Palea Fokea, the mayor invited the Ship to Gaza as a sign of support throughout the Liberty Fleet enjoys among the Greek people. "Juliano" got the first, and so far only ship in the Freedom fleet leave the port of Piraeus completely legal and with all papers duly stamped by the Greek authorities.
The fact that "Juliano" finally got the green light to leave the port indicates that the Greek authorities can take to their senses. In Gaza are now demanding that the ban on Freedom Fleet other boats, and not least our cargo ship, to leave port immediately lifted, so that we can put the course towards our real destination: Gaza.
In the meantime, the Greek government to reconsider its decision, the majority of Swedish passengers, like other initiatives, to fly home tomorrow. The wait in Athens has been delayed. As soon as the news comes that the Greek government has lifted the ban on freedom of navigation, the Liberty Fleet of passengers returning to embark ships.
That this will happen we have no doubt for a moment. Opinion storm against the Greek government's appeasement towards Israel's demands for extended blockade grows every hour and is continuously finding new expression. But above all: the worldwide public opinion against the inhumane, illegal and destructive for all involved blocks of Gaza has already reached gale force.
