JERICHO (Ma’an) -- Palestinian security forces arrested 69 fugitives traveling via the Allenby crossing to Jordan, while more than 49,000 travelled in both directions over the past week, police said Friday.
Police said security officials arrested 69 fugitives wanted for various charges of fraud and criminal acts, and the crossing registered 48,971 travelers on both directions within the week.
None of the fugitives were identified and the specific nature of the charges was not known.
The statement added that some 21,921 travelers entered the West Bank from Jordan, while 27,050 traveled to Jordan. Twenty-one patients traveled in Palestinian ambulances after coordination with Jordan.
