Erekat: Israel must freeze settlements with quartet proposal

Responding to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reserved acceptance of the Quartet proposal, Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erakat, called it “an exercise in deceiving the international community.”

Speaking to AFP in Cairo on Sunday he said: “If he (Netanyahu) accepts the Quartet statement, then he must announce a halt to settlement activity, including natural growth, and accept the principle of the 1967 borders because this is what was clearly demanded by the Quartet statement.” (AFP)
