RAMALLAH, December 29, 2011 (WAFA) – Member of the Freedom and Political Prisoners Committee, Khader Adnan, continued his hunger strike, which he started since November 18, after an Israeli interrogator assaulted him during interrogation, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Club (PPC) on Thursday.
PPC lawyer, Qaddura Faris said that Adnan, who is one of Islamic Jihad leaders, was subjected to a humiliating interrogation, during which Israeli soldiers pulled his beard and ordered him to wipe dust off his shoes and put it back on his beard.
Faris said that Adnan has been detained since last Wednesday in a cell filled with insects.
The interrogators threatened to prevent his family from visiting him for two months and him from buying from the canteen, if he didn’t call off his hunger strike, Faris said.
Faris warned of the escalating Israeli prison’s administration’s aggressive policies against Palestinian prisoners, especially after the Gilad Shalit swap deal.Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA
