Israeli Forces Declare Iraq Burin Closed Military Zone

NABLUS, July 30, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Saturday declared Iraq Burin, a village southwest of Nablus, a closed military zone after surrounding it earlier in the day, as with every Saturday, according to witnesses.

Israeli military forces stationed at checkpoints at the entrances of the village subjected residents to strict inspection and prevented anyone from outside the village to enter it.

Jewish settlers from the settlement of Har Bracha Friday set fire to nearly 20 dunums of Palestinian land planted with olive trees east of the village of Iraq Burin.

Clashes broke out between settlers and village residents. Israeli forces arrived at the scene and fired tear gas at the Palestinians causing suffocation to at least seven people.
