CAIRO, Dec 17 (KUNA) -- Egypt announced Saturday that 550 Palestinians prisoners would be released from Israeli jails tomorrow Sunday, the second phase of a prisoners' exchange agreement between Hamas and Israelis.
Israeli authorities have already started legal and administrative procedures to release the prisoners, a security source told reporters on condition of anonymity.
Israel agreed to release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in exchange of already-freed soldier Gilad Shalit. Egypt sponsored the agreement between Israel and Palestinian Hamas movement.
The source said the second phase included the release of remaining of female Palestinian prisoners. He said most of the Palestinians to be released were from the West Bank.
