Fatah to Re-evaluate Reconciliation after Hamas Measure

RAMALLAH, January 8, 2012 (WAFA) – Fatah Central Committee Sunday said that it will re-evaluate the reconciliation agreement it had reached with Hamas as a result of the way Hamas officials treated a Fatah delegation upon entry into Gaza on Friday.

Fatah said in a statement that Hamas should apologize to Fatah and the Palestinian people for what its “interior ministry” has done when it prevented a high level Fatah delegation from entering the Gaza Strip forcing it to cancel its visit and return to Ramallah.

It described what happened as “unprofessional and inappropriate.”

The press release warned that Hamas’ actions might jeopardize efforts to achieve reconciliation and end division.

Hamas had denied claims that it banned the delegation from entering Gaza and asked the four members to return to the Strip promising to facilitate their visit as it did with the visit of Nabil Shaath, another Fatah Central Committee member, who has been in Gaza for a week.

  1. Hamas, can not afford debate, they know they will lose.

The people of Gaza, know the Hamas take over has not helped. They are worse off today than before.

Hamas, must suppress any opposition or lose in the next elections. We see this type of moves all over the world by suppressive regimes. People let them in, they make things worse, then suppress the opposition, to stay in power.
