Israeli Settlers Vandalize Mosque, Burn Cars Near Salfit

SALFIT, January 11, 2012 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers Wednesday vandalized a mosque and set fire to three Palestinian-owned vehicles in Deir Istiya, a village near Salfit in the northern West Bank, in what is believe to be a “price tag” attack, according to the head of the village council Nazmi Salman.

He told WAFA that a group of settlers wrote “price tag” and other racist slogans in Hebrew on the outer wall of the village mosque and poured flammable material and on three cars and set them on fire.

Residents, he said, confronted the settlers and pushed them out of the village before they caused by further damage.

Salman accused the Israeli army of protecting the settlers during their attacked on the village.
